GETTING HERE

Sapa is only 5 hour by bus from Hanoi with the Sapa bus station a short taxi ride from The Mountain View Hostel.

The nearest train station is in Lao Cai around 30km down the mountain. The trains take about 9-11 hours to and from Hanoi depending on which service you choose. They are comfortable and have dropped in price since the new highway to Sapa opened (funny how competition from a bus will do that). Taxis to Sapa will set you back $25US. There is also a local bus that leaves for Sapa just after the train arrives for around $5.

Be aware: When arriving by bus in Sapa you will be swamped by touts just look for one of our staff in our hostel T-shirt!
